How do you remove an old etag holder from a windscreen? Does car ownership annoy you? Perhaps your windscreen has some ugly eTags hanging from its frame. If you don’t want them there anymore, can you get rid of them without having to pay someone to come out and remove them? The answer is yes – but only if you follow our simple instructions below.

Etags are little stickers that show the previous owner of a vehicle. They are usually located behind the rearview mirror or above the driver’s door window and they identify the year, model, and even the car’s colour. Many insurance policies forbid these tags from being removed and therefore often require their removal before selling a car.

With our guide, you can easily remove those annoying tags, saving you time and effort. All you need is a pair of scissors and a hole punch tool. Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Find the Tag Location

Before starting this process, ensure you know where the tag holder in question is located. The easiest way to do this is by looking at the back of your vehicle; the last place most people look before entering their car.

These holders are usually placed on either side of the rear-view mirror, in between the two windows, just above the driver’s door or maybe even in the middle of the dashboard. Once you have found the location, use an old credit card or paper clip to gently pull down on the sticker until you feel it start to break away. Then simply cut off the excess part using your scissors.

Step 2: Punch Out the Hole for the New Sticker

Now that you’ve got the old one out of the way, you’re ready to begin the new one. Using a hole puncher tool, carefully punch out a small circular hole through which you will insert the new tag. We recommend punching out holes on both sides of the existing sticker so as not to damage any other parts of the windshield while replacing it. In addition, make sure your hole punches aren’t too big so that they don’t tear up the edges of the windshield.

Step 3: Attach the New Tag

Once you’ve punched out a small circle of glass with a hole through it, you’re almost finished! Next, take the new tag you purchased online and peel off the backing. Place the new tag onto the glass, ensuring it fits snugly into the hole you created earlier. Use strong tape (like duct tape) to hold it in place while you drive around town.

By doing this, you’ll avoid damaging the windshield if your vehicle makes contact with something. When you park the car, check that all four corners of the tag are still attached properly to the windshield.

Windscreens are usually replaced every three years as they become damaged by road debris in the form of stones and dirt. They can be repaired at much lower costs. Windscreen replacers are used in order to reduce the temperature of the windscreen when driving at high speeds. They usually consist of a thin layer of reflective material applied onto the front surface of the glass.

Check whether there is something sticking in between your windshield and the wipers. If so, don’t forget to remove it before replacing your windshield. This includes broken pieces of plastic, broken pieces of metal, etc. In fact, if you notice anything unusual, make sure to write down the details so that you can report it to your local authorities.

If you notice the cracks appear frequently, it might mean that it gets cold outside when it rains, causing ice crystals to form inside of the windshield. This can lead to windscreen cracking and breaking, especially around the area of the wipers.

To prevent this problem from occurring, you should regularly clean your windshield by wiping it with an outdoor cleaning solution. It’s also recommended that you change the wiper blades every few months since this could cause water and dirt to build up inside the rubber portion of the blade, which would eventually affect the performance of the wiper arm.

Also, you should be checking the condition of your windshield often. Car glass can develop cracks over time due to the elements that enter the vehicle, such as rainwater, snow, dust and mud. If these occur near the edge of the window, you may want to hire a crack repair specialist or repair service.

However, if the crack occurs right next to the wiper motor, you may want to seek help from auto glass technicians or a crack repair specialist to work on your car window. They can quickly do glass repair and replacement services to fix the problem.

If you find that there is an object stuck on your windshield, you should first try to scrape it off manually. If this doesn’t work, then you may need to get a repair service, someone who knows what they’re doing to remove the object for you. Plenty of objects can stick themselves to your windshield, including insects, bird droppings and road debris.

If the object is very large, you may want to contact your local automobile service centre because they may be able to safely remove the item in a safe manner. Smaller items, however, may be removed easily by hand.
